Le Matin Dimanche parle de Second Life [fr]

[en] Article in local newspaper about Second Life. Some links and pointers.

Eh oui!

[en] I'll be on the radio tomorrow morning between 8am and 8.30am, CET.

[en] List of people expected for the December Bloggy Friday in Lausanne.

Eh bien!

[en] I explain that it's normal that most people don't "get" blogging naturally. Active bloggers today "in the wild" are the result of a natural selection. You can't turn a bunch of politicians or employees into bloggers (all the more good ones) just by throwing blogging tools at them. Training is needed. Media education.

[en] I'm singing this week-end with Café-Café (we're about 70 singers) in Montreux (Friday), Chézard (Saturday) and Romont (Sunday). Come and listen to us!

Sorry For The Outage [en]

As you certainly have noticed, we’ve had a bit of an outage over the last 24 hours. It was due to a problem at our hosting company, and to the best of our knowledge, it is now resolved.

Around 1pm local time (CET), the firewall started acting out. I’ll spare you the sordid troubleshooting details, but the situation was such that it had to be physically replaced. We then worked with the hosting company to reconfigure it, but despite our efforts — which involved Christophe connecting and doing some setup magic from his plane back from Japan, and many other more sordid details I’ll spare you too — there were still problems with the comment tracking service and our e-mail distribution until this morning. (This also means that if you sent us mail during the last 24 hours, you’re better off sending it again.)

The main thing is that as of 11:30 this morning (still CET) everything is (hopefully!) back to normal. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

If some of the conversations you wanted to track didn’t get recorded during the last day, remember you can simply go back to them and check the “Track this conversation” checkbox. If you want to reappropriate any comments you made during the outage, the old trick of selecting the comment and clicking on the bookmark (or toolbar button) still works.

Video: About Lush and Blogging [en]

How do I call this? A Vlog? A podcast? A video podcast? A videocast?

Anyway, here’s a little about me and Lush and what makes me say Lush should get into blogging. Enjoy! Yes, I messed up with the date. We’re the 20th. Shows you what not having any regular schedules anymore did to my internal clock.

*Sorry, DailyMotion is taking a little time to get the video up and running. You can check out a [16Mb MP4 version of the video](https://climbtothestars.org/files/2006-11-21-stephanie-booth-ctts-lush.mp4) while you wait.*

It took me ten minutes to shoot, an hour or so to edit, and many many hours to figure out the right export settings and upload it to DailyMotion. I’m open to criticism (though I don’t like it, of course, I won’t lie) if you think there’s a way I could improve this.
