I haven’t had a chance to say it before, even though this has been around for quite some time: I’d love to see a common weblog format.
Now I’m thinking about the features I would like to see in a weblog-publishing tool, as a user.

My Bookmarks [en]
Old bookmarks, new bookmarks. Thanks to Nacara who wrote the script.
Which brings the number of links on the left of this page to a frightening twenty, if you take into account the two external ones. It is way to much. So, dear reader, as I stare at this design (which dates back to the beginning of year 2001) and long for a change, I’ve decided to re-think the site architecture as well.
However, don’t expect immediate changes, as in the meantime, I’m also preparing a website for my judo school (and writing the CMS for it from scratch, and trying to do it properly, with pretty functions and all, so that it might be shared with others), polishing up Swissblogs, sending warm thanks and energy daily to Assistant Editor-in-Chief Sam who is doing the hard work to keep Pompage.net running (merci!), as well as trying to have a life offline. Yes, that was a long sentence.
Any suggestions welcome, of course.
Minorités sur le web? [en]
Pour ceux qui pensent qu’il suffit de coder pour IE, et qu’avoir des égards encore de nos jours pour les rares pelés qui surfent encore avec un modem 56K… les chiffres parlent chez Sam:
fin 2002 il y avait 1,3 millions d’abonnés français au haut-débit (câble et ADSL). En pourcentage ça fait, ah ben tiens, juste comme le nombre de français n’utilisant pas IE : 6,2%

Sea and Salt [en]
“Why is the sea salty?” was the question of the evening. I’m not a little flattered that my hypothesis (off the top of my head) proved to be pretty much correct.
In a couple of words, water dissolves a small amount of salt and other minerals as it runs through soil and rocks in its journey to the sea, from which it only escapes by evaporation — leaving the salt behind. Hydrothermal vents and submarine volcanism also play a part in making the sea salty.
