Over the years, I’ve come to have certain standards for what I post in this weblog. Posts tend to be long. They are often (not always) of (somewhat) general (geeky) interest.

I rarely make a post just to write a few lines about what is going on in my life. This doesn’t seem to be the right place anymore. For important events, yes. But small things seem out of place here.

I got an invitation for wordpress.com, and opened a blog there. I’ve been posting silly things on it, but my close friends and my Grandma might like it. It has no ambitions for recognition, respectability, or audience. It’s just some bits of my life.

We’ll see how things work out. Consider it as en experiment. I know things have been pretty calm around here and almost reached a standstill at some point. My life has changed a lot (and positively!) during the past year, and I cannot help but notice that my writing impulses have changed. I expect that the respective roles of my two blogs will be defined by usage over the next weeks or months.

So… if you think I’m being silent, go and have a peek at Stephanie’s Cheese Sandwich Blog. And keep watching this space — it’s by no means closed.

  • Sortir de Facebook? 1. Micro.blog30.09.2025
1. Micro.blog"

Start with part 1 (activities), then part 2 (interaction). Sorry this 3rd part took a little longer than intended to come out. In parts 1 and 2 of this series, I covered some types of activities (reading, writing, responding, sharing) that come into play in the text-driven social web, as well as the different flavours … Continue reading "Rebooting The Blogosphere (Part 3: Integration)"
  • Brains Get Tired Too27.09.2025
It’s funny how physical tiredness is not something one would think to question. It seems pretty obvious. We understand that if somebody has spent decades using and abusing their body, they’re going to face consequences as they get older. If you’re doing extreme running, hundreds of kilometres, or an insane amount of walking, crossing continents, … Continue reading "Brains Get Tired Too"
  • Who Will See My Comment?15.09.2025
Another interesting observation following my return to Facebook: when somebody responds to one of my posts there, it definitely feels like the audience for this response is primarily the people I am connected to. What I mean by that is that I expect that my contacts have a chance of seeing that response, because responses … Continue reading "Who Will See My Comment?"
  • Where Have All The Bloggers Gone?15.09.2025
What is happening for me right now is interesting. During my Facebook exile, I reconnected with the social networks that I had been present on in a very passive manner these last years. I also wrote more on my blog (here!), and made an effort to get back into reading other blogs, even though I … Continue reading "Where Have All The Bloggers Gone?"
