Over the years, I’ve come to have certain standards for what I post in this weblog. Posts tend to be long. They are often (not always) of (somewhat) general (geeky) interest.

I rarely make a post just to write a few lines about what is going on in my life. This doesn’t seem to be the right place anymore. For important events, yes. But small things seem out of place here.

I got an invitation for wordpress.com, and opened a blog there. I’ve been posting silly things on it, but my close friends and my Grandma might like it. It has no ambitions for recognition, respectability, or audience. It’s just some bits of my life.

We’ll see how things work out. Consider it as en experiment. I know things have been pretty calm around here and almost reached a standstill at some point. My life has changed a lot (and positively!) during the past year, and I cannot help but notice that my writing impulses have changed. I expect that the respective roles of my two blogs will be defined by usage over the next weeks or months.

So… if you think I’m being silent, go and have a peek at Stephanie’s Cheese Sandwich Blog. And keep watching this space — it’s by no means closed.

  • Anthropic payment woes – resolved13.04.2026
TL;DR: enter card details manually, not using Link, if you need to change your payment method and it’s stuck. Three days ago my Claude Pro subscription was up for renewal but I’d forgotten to top-up the prepaid credit card I use for this. It was (logically) declined and my subscription was suspended.  I was using … Continue reading "Anthropic payment woes – resolved"

End 2024 is when I really started to get going with “AI” (or LLMs – I know saying “AI” is kinda wrong, but there seems to be no good way to escape it right now). I’d been dabbling a bit before that: as a search engine, to help me with my excel formulas at work, or … Continue reading "The Wild Magical World of AI (LLMs)"

A friendly colleague I share some geeky interests with told me today I was courageous to announce my blogging intentions yesterday. I told him “not that much”, because if I didn’t stick to my declaration of intent, it’s not something I’d feel terribly bad about. Writing that quick post yesterday made me feel a bit … Continue reading "Today is Tomorrow"
