What Are Your Favourite Climb to the Stars Articles? [en]

In less than a week, Climb to the Stars is going to turn 10. That’s quite a ripe old age for a blog! On that occasion, I’d like to give you the occasion to let other readers know what your favourite (and most shareworthy) Climb to the Stars articles are.

I’ll create a post with all your recommendations and publish it on the 13th.

So, amongst the 2339 published posts (including this one) on this blog, which are the three (or two, or one) that you would like to make other people read — or which left the biggest mark for you? Use the form below to tell me. You can also add a paragraph at the end to explain your choice, and I’ll publish it too, alongside your recommendations (and leave your blog URL so I can link back to you!)

Thanks for helping CTTS have a nice blogversary!

Eight years ago today, I stumbled over to blogger.com after seeing one too many “Powered by Blogger” stickers on sites I was visiting after checking out the profiles of my fellow Astounding Web forum pals.

I read the welcome page, and didn’t get it.

I created an account to try to understand. Ah! This was something that would allow me to publish stuff (like my “What’s New?” page) easily, without having to bother with FTP (that was what Blogger was about then — Blogspot didn’t exist yet).

It sounded like a cool tool to add to my site (like Sitemeter, like a local search engine, like a feedback form). Little did I know where it would lead me.

I’ve been a blogger for eight years.

13.07.2000 – 13.07.2004 [en]

My weblog turns four today. A brief look back on what has changed since then.

[fr] Mon weblog a quatre ans aujourd'hui.

Four years already that this weblog exists! Over a thousand posts, an insane number of categories, and somewhere between 200 and 550 visitors a day — depending on my posting frequency, the weather, and if Joi mentions one of my posts or not ;-). I have never been a frighteningly prolific blogger, but well, there must be something to be said for keeping it up all these years!

Four years ago, I was at my brother’s, I had been back in Switzerland less than a month after spending a year in India, and I stumbled upon Blogger after seeing it mentioned a few times on the sites of the kind folk who haunted the much-regretted Astounding Web forums.

I couldn’t really figure out what this Blogger thing did, so I created an account, and I saw the light.

I’ve gone from fiercly anonymous to having my name “all over the web”, I now have my own server, I’ve learnt CSS, PHP and MySQL in the process, launched three other websites, and travelled around Europe quite a bit, meeting fellow bloggers.
