Francophonie Online [en]

Le constat est navrant. Je viens de passer quelques heures à  courir le web francophone à  la recherche de resources de qualité pour webmasters, et de sites “web design”.

Eh ben, je ne peux pas dire que j’aie trouvé grand chose. On accuse facilement cinq ans de retard sur l’anglophonie.

Même sans comprendre l’anglais, regardez:

Je vous le concède, ce sont des sites perso, des weblogs pour la plupart. Mais vous en connaissez de cette qualité en français? Si oui, je serai ravie de les voir… Laissez-moi un message ci-dessous!

HTML Tutorial [en]

What wouldn’t I do for you, you lucky brats! I stayed up wayyy past my bedtime to finish my HTML Express tutorial. To be perfectly honest, I haven’t quite finished it (the part on tables has still to be written). But I was starting to be impatient about getting it up.

Oh, and a little rant on WYSIWYG editors. Please consume with a pinch of salt.

Another couple of pet peeves. I guess I’m coming up with so many that I’ll have to concentrate them all in one place soon:

  • trading links
  • bragging about being linked to by such-and-such “celebrity”
  • incessant talking about how many “hits” or “visits” one’s site is getting and how to increase them

Word to CSS [en]

OK, I know it’s not new, but I’ve just tried it. Well I’ll be begaddled! The code is clean and usable. The output page looks just like the original document. There will only be minimal work to do to adapt the document to my site’s stylesheet…
