Plus ou moins à  froid, les liens qui trainent dans un coin de ma tête. J’en ai certainement oublié.

Bienvenue ! [en]

Lecteurs du Matin, soyez les bienvenus dans ma modeste “demeure sur le web”. Prenez le temps de faire un tour, et revenez si le coeur vous en dit. Ce weblog existe depuis juillet 2000. Si vous êtes intéressés par ce que d’autres compatriotes font en matière de weblogs, je tiens (plus ou moins) à  jour une liste des weblogs suisses.

L’article qui vous a amené ici est tout à  fait bon. Il évite les pièges habituels et présente bien son sujet. Si vous vous sentez tenté par la création de votre propre weblog, il faut ajouter à  la liste de ressources proposées à  cet effet l’excellent U-blog, gratuit et en français.

La première rencontre des webloggueurs lémaniques a eu lieu hier soir à  Vevey. Petit comité très sympathique, et on espère que lors de la prochaine rencontre (dans trois mois!) on pourra compter plein de nouveaux webloggueurs dans la région! Je mettrai les quelques photos de la rencontre en ligne prochainement.

Un dernier mot pour vous qui êtes ici pour la première fois: ce site contient effectivement un weblog (ce que vous voyez sur cette page et dans les archives), il ne se limite pas à  cela. La barre de navigation que vous voyez sur votre gauche vous emmènera visiter le reste du site, parfois en anglais, parfois en français, et parfois en images… Enjoy!

IRC can lead to strange discussions, which in turn can lead to interesting reading. See the schizophrenia index at Medline (a good online medical ressource, by the way) and in particular this good overall description of schizophrenia. In particular, note that schizophrenia is not the “Jekyll and Hyde” split-personality complex one commonly thinks it is.

First-hand [en]

This is one of the things which make the web worth while for me: in addition to the local news, I can read about what it is like to live in Hong Kong during the SARS outbreak.

Instead of watching CNN, I get a chance to see what an independent journalist who made it back to Iraq has to say, and even have a peek of what it is like to live in Bagdhad or set a foot on a landmine.

Oh yes, we don’t know how reliable these sources are. But we know how (un)reliable the newspapers and the TV are, don’t we?

Bloggers on TV? [en]

In the mail this morning:

Sounds like an interesting idea, though a few details in the mail and on the site make me a bit queasy.

Given the deadline is May 10th and I have no video material or experience, I doubt I will participate. Particularly, the task of “capturing the essence of me and my blog” seems a bit daunting.

Who out there received one of these e-mails too?

War [en]

I won’t talk about the war. You know I have trouble keeping up with politics even in normal times. So I won’t say anything about the war, particularly as the mere thought of it makes me feel positively sick. I’ll just send you off to read things that other people have written. Not necessarily the best, just those that I have picked up during the last half hour or so. Don’t forget to explore the rest of the sites if I just pointed you to an individual post.

No warblogs. I’m sick enough without reading what the likes of Charles Johnson and especially their commentors have to say (ok, I’ll admit there are more “readable” warblogs than his). Read Let Slip the Blogs of War instead. If you read French, read Michel Dumais: Le déclin des blogues américains.
