Technical issues around social media. For the geekier-minded.

New Server [en]

As you probably have noticed, I’m having some trouble in getting the domain name servers to work properly.
If you don’t know what a “dns” is, don’t worry. It just means that instead of bringing up this site, my url sends poor visitors to a gandi error message.

It will be fixed soon *fingers crossed*. Thank you Angel.

If you are one of the lucky people able to access this site, you will see that apart from the design, little has changed from the old site. I’ve done away with some old stuff and I’m adding some new things (patience!), but mainly, it’s the same content in a new skin.

All the scripts are supposed to be working by now. Let me know if they bug you.

Surprise! [en]

At last, I have redesigned.

As with any server, domain name, and design change, you can expect a little bit of tweaking in the days to come. Please let me know if you notice anything unusual.

Thanks to everbody who gave me a hand, be it by sending me screenshots, giving me advice on the layout, or helping me out with technical issues.

But most of all thanks to daniel, who encouraged me to redesign now, and who’s counselling and good advice prevented me from messing it all up again. He also did the little graphics you can see at the top of each page, as well as the redirect script which will catch any visitors to my old address and bring them safely here.

I wish you a pleasant journey through my pages, and hope that the new design will bring more pleasure to your reading.

Broken Layout [en]

Here is a screenshot of what poor daniel sees when he come here.

My apologies to all visitors who do not see this page more or less how I see it. I’m working to fix the problem.

Netscape Pain [en]

*sigh*

I’ve seen my site in Netscape 6.

I must have messed up my CSS somewhere.
I hope you Netscape users will forgive me. I’ll sort this out one of these next days.

Return Trip [en]

I just noticed that I hadn’t written down the “tale” of my return trip to India. Maybe I’ll clean up the end of my logbook and add it…

Bilingue? [en]

Bilingual? [en]

Quite some time ago, I said I wanted this site to be bilingual.
It is now clear that there is one way it will not be done: I will not translate each page to give a “French” and an “English” version of the site – nor will I translate word for word everything that I write. I just can’t.

So you will find stuff in English, some in French, and some in both. If you don’t know both languages, you might miss things – that’s how it is in the real world, isn’t it?

A few weeks ago I was listening to this episode of Life Kit on keeping your house clean. Of course I was. Each passing day puts my failings in that department right under my nose. A few things clicked for me while listening to the show. Beyond the 5-step method for dealing with an overrun … Continue reading "My space is there to serve me"

Continue reading "J’aime Bellinzone"

[en] For people with executive dysfunction (ADHD for example) or when faced with particularly challenging tasks, it can really help to use some tools: make lists, decompose tasks in concrete actions, plan precisely when one is going to do a task and for how long. Continue reading "De l’intention à l’action: mode d’emploi"

[en] I've done body doubling for years before learning it was a coping strategy for ADHD. Continue reading "Body doubling: mode d’emploi"
