Reading this made me smile... such a good description of that "Lost in Translation" feeling that sets in during the first few moments on SL. I'm on day 3 and I'm still baffled.

I think it was completely daring of you to create your own hair... I just purchased hair and put it on, though I have to figure out how to make it look better.

Did you continue on SL? I'm undecided. This could swallow huge amounts of time and I know I am too busy (and happy) in my FL to spread myself thin.

You have written a great piece. I wonder if you still visit SL or if you have tired of the complexity.

-Tory Micheline

ps I spent over 3 week on orientation island and then a week + on a welcome island. You went faster !

A very nice write up.
I think the fact that you have met people that help you is a good indication of the majority of the people in SL.
We over at eightbar.com have been exporing ways to help our people get onboard more easily.
People tend to pop along to our private island first, where they get a semi personal tutorial. We have a mix of techies, designers, business consultants etc. So everyone has different interests and needs. That in itself is good as it lets people understand the pwer of connection and tutoring in these sort of environments.
Look forward to see what you get to experience and see and do.
